From
an early age I have had an interest in all things mechanical, and my
fascination with clocks arose from helping my father frequently take
apart a clock on our kitchen table in an attempt to re-attach the mainspring.
I
was also fortunate to have a long term friend, who was the local antiquarian
horologist and an enthusiastic horological historian, with whom I spent
many a happy hour helping to repair and restore clocks under his watchful
eye.
I
continued this interest as a part-time business and then, when my friend
was nearing retirement, he gave me much help and encouragement to turn
it into full-time business in 1997.
My
business is run from my home in Surrey, the clock workshop being an
integral but self-contained part of my home. It is properly equipped
providing a safe and suitably heated and air conditioned environment.
Security
has always been one of my main priorities and the clock workshop is
separately alarmed. My business is insured for public liability and
your clock is covered by this insurance whilst in my care.
